Command Reference

Global Commands

Commands that perform an action in an IRC network.

Command Description
/closeall Closes all queries. This will part any channels you have joined.
/clearall Clears all queries.
/readall Mark every query as read. Resetting all message unread badges.
/set <key> [value] Allows you to view or set configuration options. View all options.

Network Commands

Commands that perform an action in an IRC network.

Command Description
/connect Connects to the current IRC network.
/disconnect Disconnects from the current IRC network.
/query <target> Jumps to the given query.
/msg <target> <message> Sends a message to the given target.
/ctcp <target> [action]
/part [channel] Leaves a channel.
/whois <target> See whois information for a nick.
/kill <target>
/oper <username> <password>
/umode <modes>
/list Shows a list of IRC channels in the network.
/ignore [nicks] Ignores a nickname. The given nicknames (or current query) will be ignored. You will not see any messages sent from the nick.
/unignore [nicks] Unignores previously ignored nicks.
/raw <line> Sends a raw IRC line.
/debug Opens a debug console showing raw IRC commands.

Query Commands

Commands that perform actions in any query.

Command Description Example
/close Closes the current query, if the current query is a channel the channel will be parted.
/myversion Sends the current of Palaver you are running to the current query. Current version: Palaver 2.5.0 (1739) https://palaverapp.com/
/sysinfo Sends system information to the current query. kyle is using Palaver 2.5.0 (1733) on iOS 10.2 on an iPhone 6
/clearbuffer [targets] ZNC specific command to clear the buffer on the ZNC server.
/np or /music Sends the current now playing music from the Music app.

Channel Commands

Commands that only perform actions inside channels.

Command Description Example
/join Joins the current IRC channel.
/detach ZNC specific command to detach from the current channel.
/topic [topic] View or change the topic for the current channel.
/ban [channel] <nicks...> Ban nicks from the given channel or the current channel.
/kickban [channel] <nick> [reason] Kick and then ban a nick from the given channel or the current channel.
/kick [channel] <nick> [reason] Kick a nick from the given or current channel.
/mode [channel] <modes> View or change modes for a channel. /modes +c
 /invite <nick or channel...> Invite the given nicks to the given channels (or the current channel).
/cycle Part and re-join the current IRC channel.
